Kakobuy fees: what to check at each payment
Kakobuy’s published standard agent-service fee is zero, but that does not make the order free of other costs. Separate the seller payment, conversion, payment-provider charges and final parcel bill.

Zero service fee, and why it does not separate agents
Help article 63 is plain: Kakobuy promises free shopping agent service and charges no handling fee apart from item cost and shipping. Its total is item cost, international shipping and customs charges, with value-added services optional.
In the October 2026 comparison sample, 29 of 31 agents published no standard service fee. That makes the headline insufficient for choosing between those services. It does not prove they recover the cost through the same charges: compare the actual conversion, payment and parcel records.

Cost breakdown, line by line
Assembled from Kakobuy's help centre on 2026-10-10. Yuan prices are the operator's and can change.
| Line | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Item price | Seller's price, in yuan | Help article 63 |
| Domestic shipping fee | Seller to warehouse; charged once per seller per purchase order | Help article 75 |
| International freight | By line, weight and volume; quoted by the estimator | Estimator |
| Packaging consumables | ¥8 per parcel | Help article 74 |
| Customs declaration | Generally RMB 8.00 per parcel, by method | Help article 63 |
| PayPal top-up | Conflicting published formulas; confirm checkout | Help articles 64, 65 and 99 |
| Alipay / WeChat top-up | No handling charge | Help article 64 |
| Priority purchase | ¥5 per order, historical target: 4 buyer working hours | Help article 115 |
| Extra photos | ¥2 per photo, historical target: 24 hours | Help article 114 |
| Parcel photos | Free, three photos, if ticked | Help article 118 |
| Pre-packing | ¥18 per time | Help article 117 |
| Storage extension | ¥10 per order per 30 days | Help article 120 |
The two ¥8 lines come from two different articles. Kakobuy does not say whether a parcel pays one, the other or both, so they are listed apart and never added together here.

Payment-channel charges and actual credited value
The captured help pages describe Alipay and WeChat without an agent handling charge. Provider costs, availability and actual arrival still need checking. Articles 64 and 99 quote PayPal at 3.5% plus US$0.30; article 65 instead quotes 2.9% plus US$0.30 and contains another worked formula. Confirm the method, currency and total in the current checkout.
Under the illustrative 3.5% plus $0.30 formula, ten $20 top-ups produce $10 of charges and one $200 top-up produces $7.30. The $2.70 difference is only the repeated fixed part. It is not a reason to deposit more than you need: eligibility, provider conversion and withdrawal charges can change the outcome. Compare the amount actually credited before committing.

Packing add-ons and value-added services
The historical waybill screen offers packing extras such as bubble wrap, vacuum bags and corner protection. Choose an extra for a specific problem: protection for a fragile part or compression for suitable clothing. Packaging removal can reduce volume while also removing protection, and a carrier’s minimum charge can leave freight unchanged.
The 10 October capture lists pre-packing at ¥18. It can resolve uncertainty about packed weight and dimensions before selecting a route. It does not guarantee cheaper freight: compare the estimate with and without the service, and check the current completion time and whether the same packing will be used for dispatch.

What you actually pay, in order
The standard buying journey has two payment stages. The first covers the items and domestic delivery; the later parcel checkout covers international freight and the selected services. A coupon can apply only to the charge, route, account and dates in its terms. Read the dated offer conditions before treating its face value as a reduction in your order cost.
The official process describes a freight adjustment when the packed result differs from the estimate. Save both amounts and check the balance record for any credit or shortfall. Combining seller orders or parcels may help in a particular case, but seller charges, route restrictions and packed size can reverse that saving.

A useful budget has two checkpoints
Before the first payment, record the seller price, domestic delivery, credited balance and payment-provider charge. Leave room for international freight; buying the item does not pay for delivery to your country. Before the second payment, compare the selected line, packed measurements, any optional packing and the actual charges displayed. Check coupon eligibility at this second checkpoint. The two published ¥8 labels remain unresolved, so ask support how they appear on your parcel instead of automatically budgeting them as ¥16. Open the official cost explanation.
What to do when the payable amount changes
First identify the changed record: a seller-price or domestic-delivery shortfall belongs to the purchase; a packed-weight adjustment belongs to the parcel; a provider charge belongs to the payment. Ask for the original amount, new amount and reason on that record. Paying a shortfall without understanding its source makes a later refund harder to reconcile.
For an unfamiliar ¥8 line, ask how the displayed label relates to the published packaging and declaration descriptions. For a missing freight credit, provide the parcel number and both bills. Use the support-message checklist and keep the reply with the transaction.
