The orders where Kakobuy's structure actually shows
Basket size, payment channel, waiting time and parcel count decide whether a structural difference is a rounding error or a real amount. Test your own order below.

How to use this calculator
Enter the planned yuan basket, payment channel, storage time and parcel count. The calculator applies fixed historical combined conversion-markup and standard-service-cost percentages: 8.5% for Kakobuy and an 11.1% sample median measured in October 2026. Separate provider charges and the actual freight bill can change the comparison; this is a sensitivity example, not a quote or pure-FX calculation.
The tool does not estimate international freight. Freight depends on the line, the weight and the volume, and the official estimator quotes it directly; see standard terms for how lines are priced. Nothing here is a quote. It shows which differences are large enough to care about on an order shaped like yours.

Large baskets: where the margin becomes money
Applying a percentage difference to a larger yuan basket produces a larger example amount. At the tool’s illustrative 7.10 CNY/USD reference, the difference between the dated 8.5% and 11.1% combined-cost scenarios is about $1.83 on ¥500 and $21.97 on ¥6,000. The figures exclude international freight and do not identify the best provider for the order.
Two cautions keep this honest. First, the 8.5% is one measurement on one day; margins move, and the sample table shows single agents moving by several points in a quarter. Second, the gap is against a median, not against the specific rival you are considering. Measure that rival the same day if the decision rests on it.

PayPal payers: a surcharge that can outweigh the margin
Help article 64 lists PayPal top-ups at 3.5% plus US$0.30 and Alipay or WeChat top-ups with no handling charge. On a $100 PayPal top-up that is $3.80. On a $70 basket, the PayPal surcharge is about half again as large as the whole margin advantage measured against the sample median.
The fixed part of a percentage-plus-fixed fee repeats with each payment. A larger deposit may reduce that repetition while leaving unnecessary balance, so compare the real purchase need and withdrawal conditions too. These examples use 3.5% plus $0.30; official articles 64/99 and 65 conflict, and the actual checkout amount governs.
Slow hauls: days 91 to 100
Most agents in the October sample publish 90 free days; Kakobuy publishes 100, counted from “in storage”, with a reminder email at day 90. The difference only exists for items that sit between day 91 and day 100. Ship inside 90 days and it never touches you. Hold past 100 and you are in Kakobuy's extension example: 10 yuan per order number per 30 days, with a separate 30-day cooling-off description after the free period runs out (help article 120).
The buyers it helps are the ones who collect a season's worth of items before shipping one parcel. The storage page covers what happens at the end of the clock.
Many parcels: lines that repeat
Two per-parcel lines appear in Kakobuy's help centre, in two different articles. Help article 74 names a packaging consumables fee of ¥8; help article 63 says the customs declaration cost for a parcel is generally RMB 8.00, depending on the shipping method. The site never says whether these are the same charge or two separate ones, so this guide lists them apart and does not add them together.
More parcels can repeat a first-weight charge or an applicable parcel fee, but splitting may be necessary for incompatible contents or a route’s size limit. Compare eligible packed quotes for both arrangements. Free consolidation does not mean the combined shipment is always cheaper.
Orders where nothing shows
In this dated conversion-margin example, a ¥200 to ¥400 order produces only a small gap against the sample median before freight. It does not predict a specific rival’s final price. For orders like that, choose on the things that are not structural at all: which line serves your country, how quickly support answers, and whether the item you want is easy to buy through the agent's link tool.
That is a fair result, not a disappointing one. It tells you where to stop comparing agents and start comparing sellers and items; the order guide covers those.
Read this as a scenario, not a payable total
The conversion percentages are fixed historical inputs from October 2026. The selected PayPal example uses one published formula, even though official help pages disagree; your actual checkout may differ. The storage calculation shows a simple extension-price scenario, not confirmation that an expired order is eligible. Freight, destination taxes, card conversion and uncertain per-parcel charges are not added into a final delivered price. Change one input at a time to see what drives the example, then verify the actual amounts in the agent account.
